bleak and dull,
through dusty panes
and cracked wood.
Like an artist,
bored, lost,
uninspired...
My imagination
(or lack thereof)
skimmed carelessly over
streets, blocks, suburbs.
I've lost myself
already.
And not in the good
kind of way.
Behind the skyscrapers
last September built
out of guilt and penitence,
you scratched
at my monotone horizon.
Every grey line,
a timed demolition.
You tore my city down.
In thick, dark lines,
you started rebuilding.
Intricate details
lacing every corner
with your essence.
You were everywhere.
I stared at my cityscape,
